COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Ladon Carter scored 14 points and Tennessee Tech recorded 20 steals in thrashing Indiana-Kokomo 92-39 in an inter-division game on Thursday night.
Four Golden Eagles scored in double figures, including 11 points from Dwan Caldwell and 10 apiece from DeOndre Haynes and Ty Allen. Carter, who leads Tech in scoring, took an early seat after shooting 7 of 9 from the field.
Tennessee Tech (3-3) dominated on the glass 42-27 and only committed 12 turnovers compared with 26 Cougar miscues. The Golden Eagles shot 57 percent from the field and outscored the Cougars 51-21 in the second half.
Indiana-Kokomo (0-6) is a NAIA Division II school entering only its third season with a basketball program.
Dylan Mosack was the only Cougar in double figures with 12 points. As a team, the Cougars made only 31 percent of their attempts from the field.
