CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Patrick Miller scored 25 points and Jordan Cyphers added 19 to help Tennessee State hold off Austin Peay 88-82 in overtime Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference play.
M.J. Rhett chipped in 18 points with 7 boards and Robert Covington had 10 in his second game back from a knee injury.
Austin Peay (5-19, 1-9) trailed 65-63 with 1:07 left to play but hit back-to-back layups to take a 67-65 lead with 4 seconds left. Jordan Cyphers missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer but Kellen Thornton grabbed the offensive board and converted a layup as time expired to send the game into overtime.
Tennessee State (14-10, 8-3) opened overtime with seven straight points, and made 6 of 7 shots and seven free throws in the frame to pull away.
Travis Beltran scored 28 points for Austin Peay, which has lost seven straight contests and 15 of its last 16.
