Consistency is the sign of a great team.
It's precisely why Arizona State, Texas and Virginia once again are the top three national seeds in our latest NCAA postseason projections.
The Sun Devils only played one game last week and it was a midweek win over Arizona. Texas went on the road and took two of three from Kansas State and Virginia beat Virginia Commonwealth in midweek action before having the weekend off.
Other familiar national seeds this week include Florida, Arkansas, Louisville and South Carolina.
Missing from the list of eight national seeds this week is Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers continue to play at an extremely high level. However, TCU earned a solid road series win over New Mexico last week and now has more marquee wins, including a road series win over Cal State Fullerton earlier this season.
Here is a complete breakdown of the national seeds: Arizona State is 11-1 against RPI Top 25 teams and 18-4 against the Top 50, Texas is just 3-0 against RPI Top 25 teams and 21-5 against the Top 50, Virginia is 9-4 against RPI Top 25 teams and 13-4 against the Top 50, Florida is 13-9 against RPI Top 25 teams and 19-11 against the Top 50, Arkansas is 8-7 against RPI Top 25 teams and 14-9 against the Top 50, Louisville is 4-3 against RPI Top 25 teams and 8-6 against the Top 50, South Carolina is 9-6 against RPI Top 25 teams and 16-8 against the Top 50 and TCU is 2-3 against RPI Top 25 teams and 12-6 against the Top 50. The Frogs also are 18-7 against RPI Top 100 teams.
Coastal Carolina, the last team out of a national seed, is 3-3 against RPI Top 25 teams and 9-5 against Top 50 teams. The Chants also are 16-5 against RPI Top 100 teams.
There are no new regional hosts this week.
The last five teams in our field are South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, Elon and Alabama.
