Taj Gibson finished with 19 points and added 10 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season, to lead the Chicago Bulls to a close victory over the Phoenix Suns, 92-87. Chicago (15-18) has now won three consecutive games.
Gibson shot 9-16 from the field. Other key players for Chicago included Joakim Noah with 14 points and 16 rebounds, and D.J. Augustin with 13 points and 9 assists. On 8-17 shooting, including 2-3 from behind the arc, Goran Dragic scored 21 points for Phoenix in the loss. Miles Plumlee chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds.
In addition to 26.1% from 3-point range, the Suns tallied an eFG% of just 43.9%. They are 1-3 on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Bulls, conversely, are 8-3 when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.
Phoenix (20-13) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Milwaukee on Saturday.
