‘Supergirl’: What Do The Dominators Want From Kara’s Earth?

Fans of CW’s DC TV universe haven’t seen the last of the Dominators just yet.

Although the heroes managed to drive the Dominators out of Earth-1 at the end of last night’s episode of “Legends of Tomorrow,” the alien race is technically still out there. While it seems that they won’t be returning to Earth-1 soon following their failed attempt to wipe out the planet’s metahuman population, “The Flash” and “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said (via TV Insider) that the Dominators are paying Earth-38 a visit later in Season 2 of “Supergirl.”

Kreisberg’s reveal is quite unexpected because unlike Earth-1, Earth-38 isn’t populated by metahumans. So what exactly do the Dominators want from Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) Earth?

Since it is believed that the Dominators don’t have the ability to hop from one universe to another, Entertainment Weekly reported that the Dominators that will arrive on Earth-38 may be different from the Dominators that viewers met during the “Invasion!” crossover event. If that ends up being the case, then it won’t be a surprise if the Dominators that later pop up on “Supergirl” will also have a different objective.

The news outlet went on to speculate that the mysterious alien race that is hunting Mon-El (Chris Wood) is connected with the Dominators. After all, in the “Invasion!” comics, the Dominators teamed up with several other alien races, including the Thanagarians, the Khunds and the Daxamites, to invade Earth.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Mon-El, a Daxamite, was possibly sent by the coalition of the said alien races to Earth-38 to gather intel about the planet before their armada arrives. In DC lore, however, the Daxamites eventually leave the coalition and side with Earth.

“Supergirl” aired its midseason finale earlier this week, and it won’t be back on air until January next year.
