"The Super Parental Guardians" succeeds on opening day

2 Dec - After sharing photos of the long queue to director Joyce Bernal's new movie, "The Super Parental Guardians", Star Cinema recently revealed that the movie has made P75 million on its opening day.

According to PEP News, the studio shared the news on Instagram, saying, "Wow! This is seriously record-breaking. [Congratulations] to the whole team and thank you Kapamilya! Glory to God!"

Lead star Vice Ganda himself expressed his delight with the news on "It's Showtime", ABS-CBN News reported.

"Yesterday at 10pm, they announced that the movie made P68 million. It turns out, the last show was not at 10pm, but close to 1am. So when it closed, the movie made up to P75 million the first day," he said.

Ganda also dedicated the success to good friend, the late director Wenn Deramas, who had been his constant collaborator before his untimely death.

"All this, all this success, all the happy feeling, I offer this to you Wenn Deramas. I love you, I miss you and I just hope that you are seeing all these things happening right now and I hope that I'm still making you happy and proud," he said.
