Ki Sung-Yueng's last-gasp goal in extra time completed a shock turnaround for Sunderland as it beat Chelsea 2-2 to dump the Blues out of the Capital One Cup.
After a poor first half, the Blues took the lead immediately after the restart as Frank Lampard's finish took its last touch off Lee Cattermole.
But, just as it seemed that Chelsea would scrape through, former Blues striker Fabio Borini struck in the 88th minute to force extra time.
And Gus Poyet's side sealed its place in the semifinals with a fine strike from Ki just before the game went to penalties.
