Tina Charles scored a game-high 24 points and three teammates added double figure efforts as host Connecticut claimed an 82-77 come-from-behind WNBA victory over Chicago on Sunday afternoon.
The Sun (21-8) maintained a two-game lead over Indiana atop the Eastern Conference with the win. The Sky (11-17) saw a two-game winning streak snapped.
Chicago led 58-55 entering the fourth quarter, but saw the advantage slip away as back-to-back 3-pointers from Renee Montgomery and Danielle McCray opened a 66-60 lead with 6 minutes 5 seconds left in regulation.
The Sky never got closer than three points the rest of the way.
Swin Cash had a season-best 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead Chicago, while Courtney Vandersloot and Epiphanny Prince had 15 and 14 points, respectively. The Sky were without center Sylvia Fowles, who didn't make the trip and was listed as suffering a lower leg ailment.
Montgomery collected 12 points for Connecticut while Tan White had 11 and Kelsey Griffin added 10.
The Sky host Minnesota on Tuesday while the Sun resume play on Wednesday at Phoenix.
