Steve Nash: Should Play Through Injury Staff

Update: Nash suffered a bruised right calf during Friday's victory at Indiana but is unlikely to miss any time, the Orange County Register reports. Afterward, he said, "I got kneed in the third quarter, and it kind of balled up and swelled up on me. Let's hope on the plane ride home it can stay under control; it kind of popped out a little bit."

Recommendation: Despite the injury, Nash still tallied six points and four assists over eight minutes of action in the fourth quarter, helping the Lakers get back on track. He should be available for Sunday's contest against Sacramento, barring a setback, but Steve Blake will step in for Nash, if he's unable to suit up. Consider Nash day-to-day for the time being.
