HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) -- Nikola Gajic's layup with just under two minutes to play lifted Stephen F. Austin into the lead for good, sparking a 71-68 win over High Point Sunday.
Down the stretch Gajic connected on 3 of 4 from the free throw line and Desmond Haymon was 4-for-4 as SFA (6-2) kept the Panthers at bay.
Deshaunt Walker pumped in 14 points off the Lumberjacks bench, connecting on four 3-pointers. Gajic added 12 and Jacob Parker 10.
John Brown led all scorers with 26 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for High Point (3-3). Adam Weary added 15 points off the bench.
SFU was 24 of 54 from the field and 10 of 21 from 3-point range. Despite their proficiency in the final two minutes, they were just 13 of 21 from the free throw line.
High Point was without starter Allan Chaney, whose internal heart defibrillator activated last week.
