Stanford women end Baylor's streak

Baylor's 42-game winning streak came to an end Friday as Stanford knocked off the Lady Bears 71-69 in the Rainbow Wahine Tournament in Honolulu.

The game ended when 6-foot-8 center Brittney Griner missed a short shot at the buzzer.

No. 1 ranked Baylor (2-1) was led by Griner, who scored a game-high 22 points. She scored 18 of them in the second half.

Chiney Ogwumike led No. 4 Stanford (3-0) with 18 points.

The Lady Bears' streak was the fifth longest in NCAA women's history. Their previous loss happened in an NCAA regional final to Texas A&M in March of 2011.

Baylor ended Stanford's 32-game win streak in April with a 59-47 victory in the NCAA championship game in Denver.
