Indiana Pacers rookie center Myles Turner will undergo surgery Monday afternoon to repair a fracture in his left thumb, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Turner, 19, is expected to miss four to six weeks after surgery.
Turner suffered the chip fracture in his thumb during last Wednesday’s win over the Boston Celtics and had explored various recovery options before deciding on surgery.
In eight games this season, Turner has averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.9 minutes per game.
The 6-foot-11 Turner, the 11th overall selection in the 2015 NBA draft, has made solid strides adjusting to the NBA after playing just one season at Texas.
