Sources: Magic trade Arron Afflalo to Nuggets

The Orlando Magic have traded guard Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets for guard Evan Fournier and the 56th pick in the 2014 NBA draft, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Afflalo gives the Nuggets a shooting guard they were determined to get through a trade or the draft. The Nuggets had traded Afflalo to Orlando as part of the four-team Dwight Howard deal in 2012.

The deal can't be made official until after the draft tonight.

Fournier, 21, is an emerging young shooting guard who averaged 8.4 points in nearly 20 minutes a game for Denver. He was the 20th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

Afflalo, 28, has two years left on his contract – including an Early Termination Option (ETO) provision next summer – and Orlando had made a priority of trading Afflalo instead of working to extend his contract.

Afflalo makes $7.5 million this season and can opt into a $7.75 million deal in the summer of 2015.
