Sources: Heat's Dan Craig hired as Skyforce coach

Miami Heat assistant Dan Craig has been hired as the head coach of the franchise's Development League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Craig has steadily risen in the Heat organization over the past 12 years, beginning in the video room and advancing into his most recent role on Erik Spoelstra's staff as the assistant coach for player development. Craig has coached the Heat's summer league teams for the past three years.

The Skyforce have had a steady stream of coaches moving to the NBA since the Heat took it over as its D-League affiliate in 2013. Pat Delany (Charlotte Hornets) and Phil Weber (New Orleans Pelicans) advanced into the NBA from Sioux Falls the past two years.
