Sources: Hawks, Bucks given Disabled Player Exceptions
The NBA has granted the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks Disabled Player Exceptions because of season-ending losses of two players, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Atlanta was granted a $5.25 million exception for the loss of All-Star forward Al Horford (torn pectoral muscle), and Milwaukee a $1.75 million exception for the loss of guard Carlos Delfino (foot surgery).
The DPE can be used in trades or signing free agents, and expires on March 10.
The Brooklyn Nets, who lost center Brook Lopez for the season, were granted a $5.25 exception earlier this month.
Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a team can apply for the exception upon losing a player for the balance of a season.
