Source: Raptors' DeMar DeRozan expected to return against Hornets
OAKLAND, Calif. – Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is expected to return to the court Thursday against the Charlotte Hornets after being sidelined for more than a month with a groin injury, a league source told Yahoo Sports.
DeRozan has missed the past 17 games with the groin injury, including Friday's 126-105 loss to the Golden State Warriors. He is also expected to miss Sunday's road game against the Phoenix Suns. The 2014 All-Star practiced on Thursday and will have another week to get his conditioning and timing right before his return in Toronto.
DeRozan is averaging 19.4 points and 4.2 rebounds this season. He last played against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 28, when he tore his left adductor longus tendon.
The Raptors (24-9) are 11-6 since DeRozan left the lineup.
