The Miami Heat have agreed to a four-year, $23 million deal with forward Josh McRoberts, utilizing the full midlevel exception, a source told Yahoo Sports.

McRoberts, 27, averaged a career-high 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game and shot 36.1 percent from 3-point range for Charlotte last season.

Charlotte also offered the full midlevel exception to the athletic 6-foot-10, 240-pounder, but McRoberts chose Miami due to the possibility of competing for a championship with Heat free agent LeBron James, a source said.

Heat president Pat Riley can make note of the addition of McRoberts when he visits with James this week.

ESPN.com first reported the agreement.
