The Los Angeles Clippers will sign free-agent point guard Nate Robinson to a 10-day contract on Saturday, a source told Yahoo Sports.
The Clippers have had strong interest in Robinson since the Boston Celtics waived him on Jan. 14 shortly after he was acquired in a trade with the Denver Nuggets. The 5-foot-9 veteran averaged a career-low 5.8 points and 2.3 assists in 33 games with the Nuggets this season.
Over the previous nine seasons, Robinson averaged 11.4 points per game. He played for Clippers coach Doc Rivers in Boston during parts of the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
Robinson was at the Clippers’ practice facility on Saturday and is expected to suit up for Sunday’s road game against the Golden State Warriors.
