Solid, not spectacular

The class of 2018 in Texas has a number of good running backs, but none that are truly elite.

Ingram being the top running back in the state is a pretty obvious choice. He is the most physically ready running back for the next level. He runs hard through the holes and is difficult to bring down. In a year where the running back class in Texas does not really stand out, it is not because of Ingram.

Baylor

Fleeks got offered by Baylor and when former coach Joey McGuire ended up there, Fleeks became the first Cedar Hill recruit to join McGuire at Baylor. Fleeks is the going to be the top spread-offense running back in this class. He is great out of the backfield when it comes to catching the ball. Fleeks could end up as a four star very soon.

The former Texas Tech commit has not seen the offers he wishes he has. A lot of schools are interested in the running back that on a height and weight scale is the most physically ready, but his offer list should be better and that is troubling.

Williams is like Fleeks, in being another great all-purpose back. Every year in Texas, it seems one running back goes out of state and starts his freshman year. Williams could be the guy this year who goes to a school such as one of the Arizona schools, but it is very possible A&M sees him in another SEC uniform down the road.

Houston

When you see a running back committed to Houston, you think he is a great pass-catching running back with great speed on the edge. Walker is not that. Walker is a brute force RB who likes to run right up the middle and punish defensive players. It will be interesting to see how he fits in at Houston.
