The NFL draft is officially just two weeks away. Team visits are in full swing and the Philadelphia Eagles have been heavily invested in one player. That one player is Florida State running back Dalvin Cook.

During an interview, yesterday on 94WIP’s Carlin and Reese show, Cook said this when asked about the Eagles, “They’ve been showing heavy interest in me and I loved the city when I went there. So everything is good.”

Cook has met with Philadelphia, been worked out by Eagles running back coach Duce Staley and also had a meeting with members of the team’s front office His parents also met with the team as well. It seems like the Eagles are doing their homework on Cook.

When looking at Cook, there are very few weaknesses in his overall game. He is a playmaker who can change the game at any given moment, he is a three-down back, and he also possess strong receiving ability.

At Florida State, Cook tore up the field, rushing for 4,464 yards and 46 touchdowns over his four years with the team. As you may know, Cook does it all, so he also caught 79 passes for 935 yards. If Cook was with the Eagles last season, not only would he have been the Eagles leading rusher, he would also have been third in receiving with 488 yards.

Cook has a knack for finding the end zone. In each of his last two seasons, he rushed for 19 touchdowns. In fact, last season he had three more rushing touchdowns than the whole Eagles team (16).

When it all boils down, Cook is a game changer. Philadelphia does not have a game changer at running back on their current roster. They would be smart to look into a player like Cook.

The question is, is he worth the 14th pick overall? If this mutual interest is true, Cook is definitely in play for Philly at pick 14. In some scenarios, Cook can fall to the Eagles in the second round, but that seems unlikely. If the Eagles want him, they need to draft him in the first round.
