Shared Belief wins Hollywood Prevue Stakes

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) -- Shared Belief romped to a record 7 3/4-length victory in the $100,000 Hollywood Prevue Stakes for 2-year-olds at Betfair Hollywood Park on Sunday.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Shared Belief ran seven furlongs on Cushion Track in 1:22.17, the fastest time in the Grade 3 race since 2008 when Jack O'Lantern won in 1:21.89. The old record for winning margin was six lengths by Lion Heart in 2003.

Shared Belief paid $5, $2.40 and $2.10 as the 3-2 second choice. He is co-owned by sports talk host Jim Rome and Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

Kobe's Back, named for Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, returned $2.20 and $2.10 as the 9-10 favorite. Brother Soldier was another 4 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $2.80 to show.
