KENT, Wash. (AP) -- D'Vonne Pickett Jr. sank the go-ahead layup with 21 seconds left and Isiah Umipig padded the lead from the foul line as Seattle University snatched a 70-67 comeback win over Norfolk State in the ShoWare College Classic on Thursday night.
Trailing most of the game, Seattle (8-3) mounted its final push with a 10-0 spurt propelled by an Umipig free throw with barely two minutes remaining to make it 67-61. Clarence Trent trimmed the gap to four, then Umipig hit a 3-pointer before Pickett dropped in the layup that put the Redhawks ahead for the first time since the opening minutes.
Umipig, who finished with 18 points, closed out the game by hitting two of his six free throws. Deshaun Sunderhaus contributed 18 points for Seattle, while Trent added 17.
Malcolm Hawkins led Norfolk State (8-4, 2-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) with 22 points, while Anell Alexis contributed 11.
