Seahawks trade 2015 6th Round pick to Colts for DB Marcus Burley

The Seahawks have traded a sixth rounder in next year's Draft for Colts defensive back Marcus Burley. Burley has apparently had a very impressive camp for the Colts and was slated to potentially make their 53-man roster so the Seahawks evidently felt that even if he was waived, they wouldn't be able to pick him up with their 32nd position in the waiver wire. He'll come in and compete with Jeremy Lane for the nickel spot.

Burley is a 5'10, 185 pound nickel corner type with blazing speed -- here are his pro day numbers from

He was originally an undrafted free agent out of Delaware for the Jaguars, but was cut there and has spent time in Indianapolis.

This comes on the heels of the report that the Seahawks released DB Phillip Adams, who had flashed at times this preseason but was beat badly deep in Friday's game agains the Raiders. Pete Carroll highly values the idea of not getting beat deep, so this did not help Adams' cause. We'll see what Burley can do.
