Free-agent quarterback Tarvaris Jackson signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, multiple media outlets reported.
Financial terms of the deal were not available.
Jackson is expected to compete with Brady Quinn for the backup job behind Russell Wilson.
Jackson, 30, played just one game for the Buffalo Bills last season and did not attempt any passes. But he spent the 2011 season with Seahawks, where he started 14 games, completing 60 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Jackson is already familiar with the system used by Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who is entering his third season with Seattle.
