Scott Baker: (Elbow) Precautionary MRI Staff

Update: Baker experienced some soreness in his elbow Monday and will be sent for a precautionary MRI,'s Jesse Rogers reports.

Recommendation: Baker did not expect any issues after making his spring debut Sunday, but he did not feel 100 percent Monday, and will get his elbow checked out. Baker was not going to be ready for Opening Day in the first place, but he was not expected to miss more than the first couple weeks of the season had he been able to avoid any setbacks. The results of the MRI will help determine whether he was just feeling normal soreness after throwing, or if he will indeed need more time to recover.
