Safety Kenny Vaccaro became the first first-round pick in the recent NFL draft to sign a contract with his new team after he reached a deal with the New Orleans Saints, the team announced Thursday.
Vaccaro, who played his college ball at Texas, was the 15th overall pick in the NFL Draft and was the first safety chosen. The Saints allowed 292.6 passing yards per game a season ago, second-worst in the league.
The Saints also announced the signing of three draft picks: Arkansas-Pine Bluff offensive tackle Terron Armstead (Round Three), Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills (Round Five) and Tarleton State defensive end Rufus Johnson (Round Six).
Nose tackle John Jenkins, a third-round pick from Georgia, is the lone unsigned Saints draftee in the Class of 2013.
The team's rookies reported to the team's training facility Thursday and will take part in a three-day camp starting Friday.
