The New Orleans Saints placed cornerback Jabari Greer on injured reserve ending his season, the team announced Tuesday.
Greer suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in the first half of Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers. Greer hasn't had surgery yet.
"Tough for our team," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "Tough for him."
The Saints signed cornerback Trevin Wade to fill Greer's place on the roster. Wade, an Arizona product, played last season with the Cleveland Browns. He was released in August.
Greer, a 10-year veteran out of Tennessee, had been a mainstay at cornerback for the Saints since joining the team prior to the 2009 season. He started 60 games for the Saints with nine interceptionsl.
