BALTIMORE -- Senior guard Carl Jones scored a game-high 17 points, leading Saint Joseph's to a 70-60 victory over Morgan State in a nonconference game Saturday at Hill Field House.
Junior guard Langston Galloway added 16 points for the Hawks (8-4), who have won three in a row. Junior forward Halil Kanacevic had a game-high 12 rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots, and junior forward Ronald Roberts Jr. came off the bench to post 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Senior forward Dewayne Jackson had 16 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the Bears (3-8), who have lost five in a row since beating Virginia Military Institute in overtime Dec. 1.
Jackson led three players who scored in double figures for the Bears. Junior swingman Justin Black had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists. Junior center Ian Chiles had 10 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Hawks shot 44.4 percent from the field and made 5 of 18 from 3-point range. The Bears forced 16 turnovers but couldn't overcome cold shooting. They shot just 30.4 percent from the field and made only 1 of 13 from beyond the arc.
