Safety Tim Buckley became the first Penn State football player to transfer to another school when it was announced Monday that he is transferring to North Carolina State.
"I am excited to be a member of the N.C. State Wolfpack," Buckley said in a statement. "The opportunity to come here and play at my state university, so close to home, was something that I couldn't pass up."
Buckley was a walk-on at Penn State, but he will be on scholarship at North Carolina State. He redshirted last season as a freshman, so he has four years of eligibility remaining.
Because of the NCAA's amnesty agreement with Penn State transfers, he will be eligible to play right away.
There may be other Penn State transfers. Running back Silas Redd is considering a move to USC, and quarterback Rob Bolden visited LSU over the weekend.
