Mikh McKinney scored a game-high 25 points - including 10-for-10 from the free-throw line - as Sacramento State edged past UC Davis in a close game down the stretch on Tuesday night.
The Hornets (2-2) scored 10 points from the line in the final 28 seconds, McKinney hitting six and Cody Demps and Zach Mills a pair apiece. Demps scored 11 points, Mills 10 and Jordan Salley 11.
Dreon Bartlett hit back-to-back 3-pointers - his only baskets of the game - to push Sacramento State up 56-50 with 6:02 to play.
Josh Ritchart led UC Davis (3-4) with 20 points and Corey Hawkins added 16 and Ryan Sypkens 10.
The Aggies held nine- and 10-point leads through much of the first half until Sacramento State used an 11-2 run to catch up.
