A biopsy indicated a tumor on the left kidney of North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams is non-cancerous, the school announced on Thursday.
Williams had a tumor removed from his right kidney last month, and that one also was non-cancerous.
"The result of the biopsy of the tumor on the left side is great news for Coach Williams and his family," said Dr. Eric Wallen, professor of urology at UNC, according to CBSSports.com. "He is recovering very well and we will continue to follow his progress."
Wallen said Williams, 62, can return to his normal schedule, and Williams is expected to be available for North Carolina's first practice on Oct. 13.
