New Orleans forward Anthony Davis has proved to be one of the NBA's top rookies this season, but injuries continue to follow him
A left shoulder sprain will keep Davis out of the Hornets' game on Wednesday night at Oklahoma City. He did not accompany the team on the trip.
Davis suffered the injury when he ran into Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez under the basket in the third quarter of the Hornets' 101-97 loss on Tuesday night.
The No. 1 pick from Kentucky is averaging 12.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.8 blocks this season but has missed games because knee, head and ankle injuries.
The Hornets also likely will be without guard Eric Gordon. Because New Orleans is playing on back-to-back nights, Gordon will be held out for precautionary reasons after recovering from an early season knee injury.
Since his return, Gordon is averaging 16.6 points and 3.1 assists in 22 games.
