Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Wandy Rodriguez, who spent the final four months of the season on the disabled list, exercised a $13 million player option on Friday to remain with the Pirates in 2014.
Rodriguez went 6-4 with 3.59 ERA in 12 starts in 2013 before elbow problems ended his season in early June.
Rodriguez, 34, was acquired from the Houston Astros during the 2012 season.
