The Colorado Rockies announced on Friday that they sent outfielder Tyler Colvin to Class AAA Colorado Springs.
In 136 games last year, Colvin batted .290 with 18 home runs and 72 RBI. However, the 27-year-old went just 8-for-48 with 14 strikeouts this spring.
The Rockies' roster is shaping up as Jordan Pacheco, Eric Young Jr. and Jonathan Herrera will take up spots on the bench and Yorvit Torrealba beat out Ramon Hernandez for the backup catcher spot. Hernandez was designated for assignment.
