The Colorado Rockies placed outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list with a neck injury and recalled outfielder Charlie Blackmon from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday, the team announced.
The 34-year-old Cuddyer has what the team described as an inflamed cervical disk. He sat out the Rockies' previous three games before going on the DL, a move that is retroactive to May 9. The team said Cuddyer will have an MRI this week.
Cuddyer was hitting .319 with seven home runs and 23 RBI.
Blackmon started Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The 26-year-old was hitting .336 with three homers and 21 RBI in 31 games in triple-A.
