Robert Griffin: Headed For Surgery Staff

Update: Griffin will have surgery later this week for what's been officially determined as a torn LCL in his right knee. During the surgery, doctors should be able to learn if there is further damage to his knee, particularly his ACL, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Recommendation: Let the debate continue as to how the Redskins handled Griffin's injury during the team's playoff loss to the Seahawks, but we now know the injury is somewhat serious and no one's going to be let off easy with a mild medical report, as this news proves at least some of the initial fears are founded. However, no one knows yet what damage is done to the quarterback's ACL. We should be able to get a firmer timetable for his return later in the week.
