Richmond defeats William & Mary 71-60

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) -- Cedrick Lindsay scored 22 points, Kendall Anthony added 19 and Richmond defeated William & Mary 71-60 Wednesday night.

Richmond (7-2) finished on a 21-5 run, with Lindsay scoring nine-straight. He also had a game-high six assists and six steals.

Anthony was 5 of 8 from 3-point range. He is two treys away from cracking the school's career top-10 list.

William & Mary (4-4) went on a 20-5 run to take a 55-50 lead with 7:57 remaining. Marcus Thornton scored 13-straight of his game-high 26 points during the stretch. The Spiders answered with back-to-back 3-pointers by Anthony to retake the lead, 56-55.

Thornton was 8 of 17 from the floor, and made a game-high six 3-pointers. Omar Prewitt, the freshman guard who has averaged 23 points the previous two games, was held to 10.

The Spiders won their fourth straight.
