Thousands of hockey fans took over downtown Nashville on Saturday ahead of Game 3 against the Penguins. It was quite the scene.

Among those who came out to support the Preds and join in on the festivities were famous football brothers Rex and Rob Ryan, who were fired by the Bills in December.

Rex, a Predators season-ticket holder, even took a few turns on the smash car.

What better activity for a pair of gritty football guys like the Ryans to engage in than smashing a car with a sledge hammer. Just look at how much fun he’s having.

The “smash car” has been a Predators playoff tradition for seven years now, giving fans the chance to show their pride and cause a little controlled destruction in the name of charity.

Rex Ryan is fairly new to the Smashville bandwagon, having moved to the Nashville area in 2014, but he’s been a lifelong hockey fan.

Having spent his youth in Toronto, Ryan was a Maple Leafs and Rangers fan growing up, the latter due to his father Buddy’s tenure with the New York Jets. Admittedly, he’s not the most loyal fan.
