The Minnesota Twins agreed to a one-year contract with catcher Kurt Suzuki on Friday, according to multiple reports.
Fox Sports reported that the deal is worth $2.75 million plus incentives. It is still pending a physical.
Suzuki had a batting line of .232/.290/.337 with five home runs and 32 RBI in 285 at-bats over 94 games combined with the Washington Nationals and Oakland A's this year.
The 30-year-old has caught at least 95 games in each of the last six seasons.
All-Star catcher Joe Mauer is moving to first base next year. The Twins also have Eric Fryer, Chris Hermann and Josmil Pinto on the 40-man roster. Suzuki adds veteran depth to the club.
