The Brooklyn Nets are casting a wide net as they seek reinforcements ahead of the NBA trade deadline.
Over the past week, the Nets reportedly have expressed interest in acquiring Charlotte Bobcats guard Ben Gordon and Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith.
Add Paul Millsap to the list. The Nets are also targeting the Utah Jazz forward, according to the New York Daily News.
Millsap, 28, is averaging 14.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this season. He finished with 18 points and 10 board Tuesday in the Jazz's 109-94 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
A 2006 second-round draft pick by the Jazz, Millsap has played seven seasons in Utah, averaging 12.4 points and seven rebounds for his career.
The Nets have dropped six of their past 10 games after winning 10 of the previous 11.
"Are we going to make a trade? We may, we may not," Nets general manager Billy King told the Daily News. "I'm not going to make a trade just to make a trade. Do I believe this group can regroup and play well? Yes."
