Former Georgetown forward Greg Whittington is transferring to Rutgers, CBS Sports reported Sunday.
Whittington, who was dismissed by Georgetown in late November, reportedly made the commitment to Rutgers on Saturday night.
The 6-foot-8 forward also received interest from Memphis, Nebraska, Oregon and South Carolina. He last played midway through last season. He missed the last 13 games of the season after he was ruled academically ineligible. Then, he tore an ACL during the summer and there is no timetable on his return.
Whittington averaged 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last season and was a defensive force for the Hoyas.
