Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and quarterbacks Christian Ponder and Josh Freeman are not part of the team's future plans, according to the NFL Network.
Ownership is likely to go in another direction with a new head coach after another disappointing season. The Vikings entered Sunday at 3-9-1. The team will likely prioritize a young coach currently working as an NFL assistant with "star" power, according to Sunday's report.
General manager Rick Spielman reportedly will be back.
The team currently plans to go with Matt Cassel as the starter heading into training camp next year with hopes of having a highly-drafted rookie competing for the job.
Ponder and Freeman are unlikely to be back, but a new coach could conceivably decide to keep one or both of them. The Vikings may try to trade Ponder for a late-round draft pick in May.
