Texas A&M redshirt freshman Polo Manukainiu and Utah freshman Gaius Vaenuku were among three teenagers killed in an overnight car crash, according to Fox 4 News in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The third player who reportedly died was Euless Trinity High School's Lolo Uhatafe, while a fourth athlete, incoming Utah freshman offensive guard Salesi Uhatafe, is in critical condition, Fox 4 News reported.
All four played together at Euless Trinity High School.
Before embarking on his return trip, Manukainiu chillingly posted on Twitter that he was ready for a "22 hour drive back to Texas on no sleep. Oh my."
On Tuesday, A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel offered condolences on Twitter.
"Heart hurts waking up to news about Polo. I think I speak for everyone on our team when I say we love you brother you will be missed," Manziel posted.
