The Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings contacted Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien, according to CBS Sports.
The Texans are looking for a new coach after recently firing Gary Kubiak.
The NFL Network reported that Vikings coach Leslie Frazier is not part of the team's future plans. Minnesota entered Sunday at 3-9-1 and is looking to make major changes in the offseason.
O'Brien is 15-9 in two seasons as Penn State's coach, despite working with fewer scholarships as part of the sanctions stemming from the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal.
O'Brien was the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator in 2011 and was an assistant with the team from 2007-10.
