Report: Justin Timberlake may become part owner of Grizzlies

Singer-actor Justin Timberlake has been recruiting by perspective new Memphis Grizzlies owner Robert Pera to be part of his ownership group, ESPN.com reported Thursday.

According to the report, which is based on sources, Timberlake, a big NBA fan and Memphis native, has committed to joining Pera's team of minority partners, who are working toward the completion of the purchase of the team from Michael Heisley.

One source told ESPN.com that Timberlake is making "a meaningful investment into the team" and "plans to be active" with the Grizzlies.

If the Grizzlies' sale goes ahead as expected, Timberlake would join Jay-Z (Brooklyn Nets) and Will Smith (Philadelphia 76ers) as prominent NBA minority owners from the entertainment world.
