Cincinnati's Butch Jones has declined an offer to become Colorado's next football coach, according to an ESPN.com report.
Jones told ESPN.com that a Denver Post report that claimed he had accepted the job was "false."
Colorado offered a five-year, $13.5 million deal, according to the Post. Jones had also interviewed with Purdue. He has been weighing his options at Cincinnati since meeting with the school's athletic director Mike Bohn earlier in the week. The 44-year-old has gone 23-14 in three seasons with the Bearcats, who will play Duke in the Belk Bowl Dec. 27.
Colorado is seeking to replace Jon Embree, who was fired last week after a 4-21 record in two seasons.
