The New York Jets hired Marty Mornhinweg as offensive coordinator, reported Friday.
Mornhinweg, who was the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator since 2006, replaces Tony Sparano. He was let go by the Jets after one season.
Mornhinweg was the head coach of the Detroit Lions for two years before going to the Eagles in 2003. Philadelphia was a top-10 scoring offense from 2008-11, before struggling in 2012.
The Jets ranked near the bottom in the NFL in scoring and passing offense in 2012.
