Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson might miss 2-4 weeks with a thigh injury suffered in Sunday's 31-24 victory over the St. Louis Rams, according to
The Falcons are still listing Jackson as week-to-week, but a source told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport that the injury will likely keep the ex-Ram on the sidelines for at least the next couple of games. That's bad news for the struggling Atlanta ground attack, which couldn't manage to get anything going in his absence.
Jackson left Sunday's game in the first quarter after his eight-yard touchdown reception gave the Falcons a 7-0 lead over his former team. He appeared to injury himself while lunging for the goal line and went to the locker room right afterwards. He finished the game with three carries for no yards.
Jason Snelling led the Falcons with 19 yards on two carries. Jacquizz Rodgers got most of the work in Jackson's absence, but managed just 17 yards on his 11 rushing attempts. The two will likely share the workload this weekend when the Falcons travel to Miami to take on the 2-0 Dolphins.
