Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Wade Miley has joined Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout as second-year players who had their contracts renewed at slightly above the major-league minimum after standout rookie seasons.
Miley's base salary will be $500,500 in 2013, which is just above the $490,000 minimum contract, CBSSports.com reported. He made $481,000 last season.
The 26-year-old left-hander is coming off a 2012 season in which he made the National League All-Star team and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting.
Trout, the American League Rookie of the Year, will make $20,000 above the major-league minimum after the Angels renewed his contract Saturday at $510,000 for 2013.
