The Clippers and free-agent center Byron Mullens are closing in on a deal that will bring the 6-foot-10 forward west and help Los Angeles strengthen its bench. Multiple outlets are reporting the deal will be for two years.
Mullens, who can play forward or center started 41 games last year for the Charlotte Bobcats, averaging 10.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
Dalllas selected Mullens with the 24th pick in the 2009 draft and traded him to Oklahoma City where he seldom played. He was traded to the Bobcats in 2011 for a second-round pick.
